Golden Trowl Award Winners

Recognising High Standards in Bricklaying

All trades encourage and recognise the highest standards of excellence achieved by Apprentices. Bricklaying does so in a variety of ways through Awards like the Golden Trowel Award.  Promoting high standards of workmanship and pride in Brick and Blocklaying is fundamental to maintaining a strong reputation for brick construction as a visually attractive, high quality and sustainable first choice in building materials.

What is Golden Trowel Award?

golden_trowel_videoThe National Golden Trowel is the Bricklaying industry’s own Award designed to recognise the best blocklaying apprentice team in Australia. The event is organised by the Concrete Masonry Association of Australia (CMAA) and is held biannually. It is open to teams of Bricklaying Apprentices in all States and Territories but the competition originated and is traditionally conducted in NSW. 2015 was its 12th year! ABBTF is proud to be the leading sponsor of this important industry event which brings teams and industry members together to celebrate the trade’s skills and the value of a strong team commitment.

The design of the 2015 project at Coffs Harbour is shown below.  View the competition video.  For more information review our blogs (searching ‘Golden Trowel’), or contact CMAA or ask your State Office.
