Support for Skilled Bricklayers Migrating to Australia

ABBTF offer support for skilled bricklayers migrating to Australia under General Skilled Migration (GSM) Visas 175 and 176 as follows:

Visa Subsidy

$500 AUD on the granting of the GSM Visa Application by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).

Employment Subsidy

$1,500 AUD on completion of three months employment in Australia as a bricklayer after migrating with a GSM Visa. This support is available to the first 50 bricklayers who arrive, work and qualify in each calendar year. The new arrangements will apply to applicants who have had practical assessments by VETASSESS since September 2007. The change recognises the current procedure on skills assessment and is designed to assist intending migrants to Australia under GSM Visas.

Claims for ABBTF Visa reimbursement must be made within the following time frames:

  • $500 Visa Subsidy – Within 3 months of the Visa being granted
  • $1,500 Employment Subsidy – Within 12 months of the Visa being granted
