Australian Brick and Blocklaying Training Foundation Privacy Policy
The Australian Brick & Blocklaying Training Foundation Ltd (ABBTF) recognises that your privacy is very important to you – it is to the ABBTF as well. ABBTF handles personal information provided by and about people every day. Personal Information is information or an opinion about a person whose identity as apparent or can reasonably be ascertained.
ABBTF is bound by, and committed to supporting, the Information Privacy Principle (IPPs) set out in the information Privacy Act 2000 (Vic) and the, Health Reports Act 2001. (Vic) in its handling of personal health and information. The Policy of the ABBTF applies to all persona and health information provided to ABBTF and information about individuals obtained from other sources.
We will only collect personal information from you that is necessary for one or more of our functions and activities. We will only collect personal information from you by lawful and fair means, without being unreasonably intrusive, At or before the time we collect personal information from you we will take reasonable steps to inform you why we are collecting that personal information, who else we might disclose that personal information to and what will happen if you do not provide personal information to us. Where reasonable and practicable, we will only collect personal information about you, from you. The ABBTF monitors and records details of all incoming electronic traffic to ensure the integrity of the ABBTF’s networks. This information will be used for statistical analysis to help improve the services delivered by the ABBTF.
The information you have provided will primarily only be used for the service you have requested of us. In order to perform that service, we may provide access to your personal information to third parties. We are, for example obliged, on occasion to pass on information of a personal nature to Government agencies. However, generally this is used only as a measure of the ABBTF’s compliance, efficiency and effectiveness.
If you ask, we will tell you what personal information we hold about you, and what we do with it. We facilitate access to you by allowing an inspection of your personal information in person, or by providing copies or a summary of relevant documents, depending on what is most appropriate in the circumstances. We endeavour at all times to ensure information held by the ABBTF about you is accurate and up to date. We encourage you to notify us of any inaccurate information so that it can be corrected.
At ABBTF we make every effort to see that personal data remains secure. Information or data is restricted to those who need to know and distribution of information is kept to a minimum.
The ABBTF respects everyone’s right to anonymity except in circumstances where it is necessary for you to provide us with your identity.

His Apprentice Join Forces
ACT bricklayer Michael McPherson completed
his training at Wagga Wagga in 1983. He started his business two years
later, moving to Canberra in 1992 and has always been self
employed.
Michael’s apprentice, Ashley Harris was awarded the
Bricklaying Apprentice of The Year for 2008 and Michael reckons he felt
like a proud parent.

Launceston bricklayer Darrel Lillico was 16
years of age when hestarted as an apprentice. “After
completing my apprenticeship, I went out on my own, and have been
