Direct Employment of a SA Apprentice
Up to $21,400 good reasons to employ a SA apprentice bricklayer!
ABBTF Brickstart Subsidy provides up to $3,000 in wage support over three years for bricklayers and builders directly employing bricklaying apprentices. Good quality young people are ready and keen to start an apprenticeship in South Australia and add value to your business. Many have completed industry sponsored Step Out Programs for school students or pre-apprenticeship/pre-vocational training in bricklaying at a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation.

SA Apprentice Group Training Organisation Employment
Up to $21,400 good reasons to employ an apprentice bricklayer!
Thanks to the ABBTF Brickstart Subsidy, Group Training Organisations (GTO) can pass on subsidies for SA Apprenticeships by way of a reduced charge out rate to the apprentice employer. ABBTF Brickstart Subsidy enables Group Training Organisations (GTO) to pass on $1,000 per year for the first three years of the SA apprenticeship term by way of a reduced charge out rate - a total subsidy of up to $3,000 to the host employer. This is available to bricklayers and builders employing a bricklaying apprentice through a GTO.
Group Training Organisations may also pass on benefits from CITB and the Federal Government. The total current benefits available in SA are up to $21,400.

Federal Government Support
$4,000* is available for new apprentices, $1,500 after three months and $2,500 on completion of the apprenticeship.
$3,750* is available for hiring Out of Trade apprentices, $750 after three months and $2,500 on completion of the apprenticeship.
*Payment of these incentives is subject to employers and their apprentices meeting prescribed eligibility criteria. If an apprentice has prior qualifications obtained in the past, this may impact on the incentives available. There are also a number of additional incentives available that are paid to the employer in certain circumstances eg. additional School Based Apprenticeships incentive, assistance for Australian Apprentices with disabilities, etc.
