ABBTF takes pride in sponsoring community programs as a promotion for bricklaying apprenticeships and one example of this is the Under 16’s St Paul’s McKinnon Junior Football Club, in the southern suburbs of Melbourne.

The criteria for winning the award fits well with ABBTF’s objectives of future Bricklaying apprentices having a strong team commitment and wanting to develop to be the best they can be.

imagesThe monthly award, for ‘Demon of the Month’ (DOTM) symbolises and celebrates the growth, development or contribution a player makes to the club in the past month.

Chris Hughes, President of the Club, said “It is quite an honour for a young person to receive this award and gives coaches an opportunity to acknowledge the players skill improvement, team contribution, training attendance, enhanced performance or behavioural standards at training or on match days.

There is less of an emphasis on the ‘best player’ of the month (which gets picked up in our Best and Fairest voting) although some coaches may choose at times to recognise an outstanding month”.

Once an award winner is chosen, ABBTF sponsors the young footballer for a $100 Village Gold Class movie voucher – a great acknowledgement of their contribution! Congratulations to the award winners each month!
