Get set for a 3% wage increase and new incentives for national skills shortages

What do you need to know?
The Fair Work Commission has announced a 3.0% increase to minimum wages. The increase applies from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2019.

Who does the increase apply to?
This increase is applicable to the employers of all workers on the minimum wage, nationally and it flows on to Apprenticeship pay rates, including Bricklaying Apprentices.

How are we assisting?
To assist employers in making the change to apprentice’s wages, we have updated the wages on our website Become A Bricklayer.

The Australian Government is making moves to double the standard incentive payments to eligible employers of Australian Apprentices commencing on or after 1 July 2019 in specified skills shortage occupations with first incentive payments due to be paid from 1 July 2020. www.apprenticeshipsupport.gov.au
