With the current increase in building activity in my State, Queensland and a forecasted strong eighteen months ahead, now is definitely the time to consider putting on a new apprentice bricklayer. We at Australian Brick & Blocklaying Training Foundation are the ones to help and advise you on the many different ways to put on an apprentice and to find the best candidate for your business.
There are so many ways to consider an apprentice: from structured work based experience, school based apprenticeships, standard apprenticeships, adult apprenticeships, fast-tracked apprenticeships and even recognition of prior learning or RPL. On our website there’s much more about this.
ABBTF provides the Brickstart Subsidy to approved employers and it funds eligible current workers who want to up-skill to obtain their trade qualification, plus there are State and Federal incentives. The ABBTF and Federal subsidies alone account for $7,000 towards covering an Apprentices wages.
Call us on 07 3205 1783 or 1300 66 44 96 to discuss the many opportunities that are available to employers who want to take on apprentices and to existing industry workers who want to get their trade qualification.
We’re also hard at work attracting quality young people to the bricklaying trade and have advertisements running for Qld bricklaying apprentices on the job advertisements website Seek.com.au and soon at Gumtree.com.au.
ABBTF can guide you through the process of putting on an apprentice, provide financial support and advice as well as put you in touch with the many different Registered Training Organisations and TAFE’s suited to your location.
We’ll help you increase your productivity and your trade qualified workforce by getting the right apprentice for you- one who is work ready and who if put on the trowel early will deliver rewards for your business in terms of increased productivity from the early months of his employment. At our employers website and at our students website, is a host of information on how we make this a reality.
