Great to hear this week that Tasmanian owned Island Block & Paving has expanded its operations to open a southern Tasmanian branch at Glenorchy (41 Howard Road), near Hobart. Island Block is one of Australia’s leading independent manufacturers of concrete masonry products covering a vast range of brick building and landscaping masonry, all manufactured at Breadalbane in Northern Tasmania. Their quality products are also on the mainland at Melbourne Brick, Amber (NSW) and Aust Paving Centre (SA)
The new 3,100 square metre site, allows for over 1,000 pallets of stock holding area as well as the largest brick, block retaining wall and paving retail display in Tasmania.
A launch event (officiated by Matthew Groom, Minister for State Growth) and a four day opening sale were featured to mark the opening. There are some great pics of the new location on facebook.com/islandblock, and also the new Hobart Waterfront paving revamp – it looks terrific!
Island Block & Paving’s is also noteworthy for it’s unique, patented “Sustainable Products for the Future“, nationally recognised as the only Australian masonry supplier to achieve Global Green Tag certification.
Best of luck with the Hobart venture, Troy Ashlin, newly appointed Hobart Manager, and all of the very experienced crew.
