Nice Way to Wrap Up the 2014 Year – Winners are Grinners

Winners image left to rightContinuing the run of success following QLD’s strong showing at the WorldSkills competition in September, ABBTF is proud to have sponsored local Bricklaying Apprentice Training Awards announced in recent weeks. The Awards and winners are:

• Bricklaying Award TAFE – Gold Coast – Daniel Hermann
• Bricklaying Award TAFE – Skills Tech (TAFE Qld) – Cory Bolvaran
• The Skills Tech Encouragement Awards went to Mitchell Paterson and William Siut

Well done! The above named winners were selected from a worthy group of contestants and made the judge’s job difficult to select the final winner.

Also, a special mention goes to Joshua Alkers who won the 1st Year Construction Apprentice of the Year 2014 Award. In our role of reducing the skills shortage in the trade, ABBTF is keen to encourage and support best practice bricklaying and to acknowledge all the nominees, place getters and apprentices for their outstanding work in 2014. We look forward to continuing success in 2015.

Congratulations also go to all the 2014 apprentices who completed their training qualification and we hope to see you come on board as host employers for a new crop of apprentices, in the not-too-distance future.
