Tonsley is arguably the best place to train, based on the new $120 million state-of-the-art facility, on the former Mitsubishi Motors site. Tafe SA, Tonsley is host to a suite of specialist building and construction facilities, including a four-storey building services installation rig, industry-leading workshop facilities, a computer-aided design suite and computer numerical control (CNC) woodwork and milling machines. All round, it’s an inspirational place to study.
When Tonsley campus, Clovelly Park, SA opened in January 2014, ABBTF was later invited to inspect the building and bricklayer training facilities and the team was impressed, to say the least. It’s a modern, open bricklaying centre with the space to work. The original car manufacturing upper structure was retained overlayed by a modern industrial architectural design for the fit out. There are dedicated glassed meeting rooms, technical supports, relaxation facilities and much more, and this is all before mentioning the excellent teaching team. With the New Year commencing soon, Track down the Teachers if you’d like to discuss the courses available. These include the pre-apprenticeship and, or the Bricklaying Apprenticeship Certificate III which you would complete alongside your onsite training with your employer:
