Qld Bricklaying Apprentices – Plan ahead for your Licence

Any apprentice brick and blocklayer in Queensland knows that when you decide to start sub-contracting in your own right, the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) requires under the law that you be licenced to perform your trade. Following your 4 year Apprenticeship you are legally able to become a sub-contractor and given the work opportunities available, you just may want to commence your own business, soon after qualification. It’s therefore a wise move to start preparations early.

Become a Bricklayer Free 5 Day Work Ready Program

A group of Year 9 and 10 students at UC High School Kaleen completed a Brick & Blocklaying 3 day construction course held earlier this month, building two worm farms which will complement the School’s wide curriculum. The Step Out Program is an introductory bricklaying course conducted by the Australian Brick and Block Training Foundation (ABBTF) designed to open the eyes of students to the trade and the construction industry, to consider the possibility of obtaining qualifications and employment in the industry in the future.
