With WorldSkills Australia’s National comp behind us, the focus now turns to selecting the very best team possible to take on the rest of the world in Abu Dhabi in October 2017. The Skills Squad for Abu Dhabi can only accommodate 20-24 places, out of 44 Gold Medal winners – and its good news for Bricklaying!
I’m pleased to say the well-deserved Gold medallist in the Bricklaying category, Trystan Sammut from Ballarat has been named in the Skills Squad which means he will now be assessed for Australian Team selection. This process is important because the competitors need to be made aware of the rigorous training requirements as well as the ambassadorial responsibilities attached to the role.
