Photo with caption version 4Great news guys!  Victoria’s Labor Government has announced a new half-price registration scheme for tradie apprentices effective from January 1, 2016, including bricklaying.

Registration renewal notices will be issued next week outlining the steps for eligible trade apprentices to take advantage of the Government’s discount for apprentices.

From January 1, eligible apprentices paying for standard registration, light vehicles will save $385.70 per year in Melbourne metro and in regional areas including Bendigo and Ballarat you will save $330.20.

Bricklayers are one of the trades eligible if the employer can verify that the apprentice’s use of his vehicle is an essential part of his work.

To view the full list of approved trades, eligibility requirements and to apply online, visit the VicRoads website.

I encourage you to apply for the discount as soon as you receive the renewal notice. Review this website to learn about other bricklayer apprentice incentives and specifically trade support loans.
